Baby Bank Alliance Impact Report of 2025
Across the UK, baby banks have become a vital lifeline for families facing relentless financial pressure from the cost-of-living crisis. They are rooted in communities, providing families essential items, mitigating against the impact of poverty. More than 400,000 children were supported by baby banks last year, an 11% increase on 2024 figures.
This latest data highlights the growing pressure facing baby banks, as child poverty remains stubbornly high. There are currently 4 million children living in poverty in the UK, and almost half of them are under the age of 4.
Demand for support is continuing to rise beyond the capacity of many baby banks, meaning they unable to meet the growing level of need.

225 baby banks submitted their data to the Baby Bank Alliance 2025 Annual Survey. The report paints a clear picture of the current challenges affecting baby banks across the UK and the communities they support. With more than 400 baby banks currently known to be operating nationwide, we know that the full scale of impact is greater.
The Baby Bank Alliance Impact Report 2025 shines a light on the power of community action, with baby banks stepping in to support families in need. However, it also makes clear that they cannot keep up with rising demand without:
- Sustainable funding and secure supply of essentials
- Greater public and political recognition of their role in reducing impact of poverty
- Strong partnerships with businesses, donors and local communities to enhance and strengthen their service to families
The Baby Bank Alliance exists to support, connect and champion baby banks. This report brings their voices together, showing both the scale of the challenge and the power of collective action.
