Creating a trustee code of conduct

Introduction

When trustees join a board, it is important to define what is expected of them in terms of their conduct as a trustee and participation in board and organisational activities. This could form part of a trustee induction or as part of a trustee handbook. As a minimum, it is advised that all trustees sign a code of conduct form outlining their commitments to the organisation and a standard of expected behaviour.
