Disclosure Barring Service (DBS)

To support best practice in keeping children and families safe across the baby bank community we would also recommend that baby banks staff and/or volunteers have the appropriate DBS checks (or equivalent for Scotland and Northern Ireland) in place.

Below is guidance on which DBS level is suitable for baby banks depending on their operation model.

The Baby Bank Alliance is open to anyone who runs, or who is thinking of starting, a baby bank in the United Kingdom, or who would like to help and campaign for families in need.
